Volvo Amazon P 220 S Your Classic Car.

Very beautifully restored P220 S with photo album of the restoration. Delivered new in California and only in the Netherlands since a few years. The combi had never seen road salt in California and was rock hard and bone dry. It was therefore a deliberate choice for the current owner to choose this very Amazon. He carried out the restoration for his own use, and had the time to do everything with care.

During the restoration, the Amazon was professionally repainted in the beautiful Volvo colour "desert sand 84", which is of a high standard in every detail. The paint has a nice deep shine and there are no scratches or dents. The floors are completely new and the sheet metal also looks top notch. The trims have been renewed as have the window and door rubbers. The Amazon was recently fitted with new (genuine!) Minilite rims with new Michelin all-weather tyres. The original roof rack looks great and a tow bar has been fitted.

The interior is in top condition. The seats are newly padded and upholstered with two-tone leather/ leatherette upholstery and the dashboard has been re-upholstered. Everything that was needed has been replaced. The headliner is also new and everything looks very clean. The car has not been "over restored" and many details are original, making it a beautiful but also usable classic.

The original B18 S was replaced in the past by a rebuilt B20 S engine with 2 carburettors, which is a nice plus. This engine is rarer and only built in the combi for a very short time. The B20 has more power and torque and is therefore excellent for regular use, including on the Motorway. The B20 is known for its simple and solid engineering. A fine low-speed engine with plenty of torque that runs excellent both cold and hot. Technically, the Amazon is completely up to date: besides the new tyres, the rear shock absorbers have been renewed, the brakes completely checked and 1, 2, 3, ignition has been fitted. What a fun classic an Amazon combi is, it belongs in the top five beautiful estate cars and is practical and reliable. Everything exudes a Volvo typical solidity.
