This 1990 Volvo 440 has been with me for about three years as my primary commuter and for occasional trips into the Highlands and over to Ireland. It's a silvery seafoam green colour, so it looks gorgeous on the coast. It's reliable in the city and cruises wonderfully on the motorway for roadtrips. It's fully MOT'ed until December 2024 and I've kept up with all work over the years:
It features the original interior with an electric sunroof, a classic Thule roof rack, and a Pioneer USB multimedia player I installed in 2021. It also has heated front seats!
• new tires (2021)
• new exhaust (2022)
• new handbrake (2022)
• new radiator & air filter (2022)
• new front spring (2024)
• new battery (2024)
There is no rust on the body. I think it may have been in a garage for much of its life. However, the bottom of the doors has slight rusting.
I bought it because I've always loved older Volvo's for road trips and due to the low mileage. My favourite things about it are the colour, how the sunroof opens fully or tilts, and how smoothly it runs on the motorway.
