1969 Daimler Sovereign 420 For Sale

First introduced in 1966, being labelled the "upmarket Jaguar" due to having slightly more features and being more expensive, truly represents the classic British motoring industry in the 1960s. Its large, rounded body and luxurious leather interior embodies the prestigious appearance that British made cars once had. Powered by the 4. 2L engine, this car will not only offer a luxurious and distinguished experience, but an adrenaline inducing one too. Many of these icons have been lost to rust and rot, making the ones in great condition such as this one a great find. This car is also one of the last off the production line.

History- First registered on the 12th September 1969, this car has only had 3 owners since then. The first owning it from new until 1976, from which the second owner kept until 2017. Since then the latest owner has cared for it very well. Within that time it has clocked 76400 miles and has had work done over the years to keep it in a good condition. This car may need some slight extra work completed on it to improve its overall appearance and performance. Below is every aspect of the vehicle listed, with details on the condition.

Bodywork, chassis and floor pans- The bodywork is still very presentable, however there are a few micro blisters on the paintwork. The chassis and floor pans are also still very solid. The chrome is also very presentable, having been re-chromed in the last few years.

Gearbox- This car contains the automatic gearbox which performs very smoothly.

Engine- It ticks over nicely once warmed up and runs smoothly, however the carburettors may need balancing to make it to tick over better. The automatic choke works, but cuts out after a few minutes.

Wheels and tires- The wheels are the correct period steel wheels with chrome hub caps. The tires have plenty of tread and are good, however the front off side tire has a slight bulge and will need replacing.

Interior- The interior is all in original and good condition. The front seats are original and have recently been repaired and recoloured. It has had new carpets fitted to the front footwells too. The headlining is also original, however a little saggy and the visors need repairing if you prefer something without patina. The wooden dashboard and door caps and in very good condition. The radio works but only picks up LW and MW frequencies as it is the original radio.

Exhaust- There was a slight blow on one of the exhaust boxes which has been patched.

Number plates- The car also still wears the original number plates.

This car comes with a large service history file, original buff book, manual, spare wheel and a near complete tool kit.
