1964 Land Rover Series II

For sale is my lovely Landrover Series 2a. She is in good condition, a few age related scratches but generally a very clean and rust free Landrover.

She has the 2. 25 petrol engine, which runs sweetly, has great oil pressure (60-80psi) and is very nippy with the weber carb fitted. She can sit happily at 55mph but can go 65mph+. I fitted new main bearings, big ends, piston rings, and oil pump along with cleaning up the head and re seating all the valves, new head gasket, electronic ignition, leads, plugs and air filter about 6months ago. She does leak a bit of oil from around the rear of the engine. Serviced less than a month ago.

The axles have been fully gone through, with new bearings and swivels in recent years along with new shocks and parabolic springs.

The gearbox is ok, changes through the gears like every other series 2 I have had. The transfer gears do make a fair whine when lightly de-accelerating. Included in the sale is a series three gearbox with overdrive, which I have been told is a good gearbox.

The chassis is tip top, its the original chassis that has at some point been repaired and galvanised. No rust! The bulkhead again is the original and is straight and rust free. I have also fitted galvanised door tops and brand new front panel in December.

I recently bought a new ‘Elephant hide’ seat set for her which is super comfy. She also boasts a new Clayton heater.

I also fitted a new wiring loom in about 2020 and new battery this year. She also had all new brakes throughout in 2020 too.
