>> MOT Exempt, VHC's Carried Out In My Ownership

For sale is my 1973 Volkswagen T2 Bay Window in two-tone orange and white. I bought her from a couple in the Peak District back in February 2022 who had owned her for 15 years and were looking for something more modern. They had kept her in exceptional condition, aside from some age related marks and patina. She's had a full respray in recent years and has been reupholstered; including the rock'n'roll bed, front seats, and rear storage compartment. These jobs were both completed while in their ownership.

After buying the vehicle, the rear brake master solenoid failed. Since, I've had both rear drums completely refurbished along with a replacement handbrake cable. They now work well (for a 50 year old VW!). I've also kept up with regular oil changes every 5, 000 or so miles, VHCs as and when needed, and other regular maintenance.
Most recently, I fitted four brand new Falken tyres before setting off on a trip to Scotland.

When not in use I kept her in dry vehicle storage with the battery charged and under my Just Kampers car cover. I've recently moved her out of storage after moving out of London. If you wish to keep the car cover I will include this plus front window blinds. The van also has a spare fuel can on board as well as some camping essentials I can also include if you wish.

Originally I wanted a great road trip vehicle I could escape to the country in a few times a year. After finding her on Auto Trader at the beginning of 2022, I absolutely fell in love with her and wanted to take a look as soon as possible. She's my first ever classic, and so I did my utmost to keep her in great condition and, most importantly, keep her on the road.

I named her Sally, after my late mum, and took her all over the country - from the lowlands of Scotland to Lands End. Myself, my family, friends, and my partner all share very fond memories with her - and she's actually brought me and my dad closer together.

However, all good things must come to an end. I'm looking for someone who will have the time and resources to take care of her in the future, as my career and lifestyle no longer allow me to devote enough energy, time, and money towards her longevity. She's been fantastically reliable in the time that I've owned her. The motor, which is original aside from the auto-choke that was fitted by previous owners, has never let me down. There is a very small oil leak which only makes itself known when under excessive use. The underside of the van has been waxoyled in recent years, and there is no corrosion present.
