For sale is my 1979 Porsche 924. The car is now registered as a historic vehicle meaning it is ULEZ exempt alongside being road tax and MOT exempt.

I’ve owned the car for about 7 years, having bought it from a classic car dealer. With a growing family, and already another classic of my own that’s a bit more practical with children, it’s time for the Porsche to go as sad as it is and for someone else to enjoy what is a fantastic little car to drive.
It’s a really solid car very clean underneath it has recently had a good service and been motd (even though no longer required) to iron out any issues and everything is in good working order. It’s been dry stored since with just minimal use. It comes with a really nice set of split rim classic BBS style wheels which are worth a lot of money themselves and suite it really well, it looks fantastic on them . It has a customised exhaust made by the previous owner who worked on Porsche and VW’s and sounds fantastic (not too loud at all, just a great background sound)

It has had a top engine rebuild a couple of years ago carried out by a Porsche specialist and has been looked after by a guy who deals with all sorts of classic and race cars but primarily classic Porsches. Runs and drives really well starts on the button first time.

In terms of interior it’s clean smart and with a good dash unlike many 924’s the seats are the classic retro 70’s pascha cheque pattern that looks great with the red paint. There is a split on the drivers seat where the fabric meets the vinyl which could be repaired without too much difficulty to make it perfect. Other than that the seats are fantastic and the interior in good condition.

Exterior wise it’s the classic red Porsche colour. The paint is old but does look great for its age and polishes up really well and doesn’t have the usual fade of old red paint. It does have some marks commensurate with age with some chips on the nose, and some moisture bubbles if you look really closely, a little paint fade just on the rear bumper, perhaps something that the new owner might wish to look into in the future. Generally though it’s very clean, with no rust on the body particularly in the sills and floor and underneath where it looks very clean, and appears straight with no sign of accident damage. A great usable classic that I hope provides as much pleasure for the new owner as I have had.
