Used nearly daily with my family, on long and short trips - very comfortable. The car is always garaged, and the garage is ventilated. The car is protected from corrosion, including the underbody. Most of the original underbody protection is still in perfect condition. I treated areas of surface corrosion with Owatrol (2 coats) or Kurust rust converter and then sealed them with the underbody seal. The sound insulation is surprisingly good. The engine is very clean inside, works very smoothly. Oil sump inspected - it was clean. Engine starts easily when cold or hot, does not overheat. I checked the operation of the cooling fan - it works fine together with the sensor, although temperature goes up to that level very rarely, you'd need to idle for many minutes. There is no need to adjust the valves on this engine. Spark plugs gap checked. This car has a rear self-levelling suspension - the car will ride at approximately the same height irrespective of the load. The rear multi-link suspension (rebuilt 1 year ago) gives this model very good handling. Central locking works, like everything else (except the clock (removed) and the re-settable odometer). Parts are widely available and are very cheap.
The engine is carburetor 2. 0 petrol M102, 94000 miles.

The dashboard is cracked. # Mercedes W124
It's a very spacious car and can handle any heavy load. It's very long and looks fantastic because of it's length. Interesting fact - I have a Merc A-class, and the turning circle on the S124 is smaller. It's also just slightly heavier than the A-class.
