By 1960, the Corvette had become a full-fledged sports car. No longer limited to an Inline-6, the car featured a 283 cubic-inch V8 available in several outputs and with a manual or automatic transmission. Handling, braking, and performance could be further enhanced with a variety of factory options, allowing buyers to tailor their car to their needs. Anything from a GT, a drag-strip bruiser, or a track-focused sports car was on the table. Styling, as with all cars from GM, was updated year-on-year. The 1960 models are perhaps some of the most understated, with significantly less chrome than the previous two years and without the boat tail of the 1961-1962 models.
