I know I’m not alone in saying the 348 is a pure boyhood dream. Seeing one on the road whilst in the back of your parents’ car was like having seen a shooting star; those quad tail pipes, louvres and pop-up lamps, it has everything a young (and now old) lad could possibly want. Rosso Corsa has to be the best colour for one, it’s like a mini and more driveable Testarossa. A super revvy 3. 4 litre V8 in the middle and the classic super smooth Ferrari soundtrack, it’s art on wheels and music to your ears and they’ve really come of age.

This particular car has been in long term ownership, as part of a larger collection. One good enough to have had two 348’s, the one to drive and this one, the keeper! The time has come to find it a new home and in doing so it has undergone a full recommissioning to assure that the new owner has many happy miles and smiles in it. I’m sure it must be the closest to a new 348 you’re likely to see, with faultless paint, a stunning interior and perfect mechanicals, it looks like new under the hood & underneath the car too.

Turn the key and the car starts effortlessly, the engine as smooth as butter and so willing to progress. Steering is as tight as a drum and the brakes give ample power to keep everything in check. In the cabin, the drivers seat bolsters are still rock solid and haven’t even bedded in, it holds you really tight for the corners, a truly sublime car to drive, rewarding and intense on a level a modern car just can’t compete with. The clutch is easy to operate, the gated manual is smooth as silk once warm too and ever so tactile.
