1967 Citroen Ami 6 Break
Up for sale is my fantastic little Ami which I have spent a fortune to get to this standard!
When I bought the car 2 years ago it had been nicely resprayed and has lasted really well with only a couple of blemishes, and the drivers seat had been reupholstered so cosmetically was really nice.
Mechanically the car needed plenty of work, initially it only seemed like it needed the carb and a few other bits sorting but as time went on that turned into a different story.
At first the car needed a clutch which was fitted, plus the engine was fully serviced - and a 123 electronic ignition.
I then used the car for a while but when driving to Run to the Sun in Newquay the gearbox decided to blow up. After this it was fitted with a replacement Dyane gearbox. While replacing the gearbox, the Citroen was fitted with a new clutch, fly wheel, discs, pads and brake calipers. The car now benefits from being a disc brake car rather than the original drums.
The car is in great condition, I would drive it anywhere without any worry. Its also had bearings, new carb, fuel filter and fuel pipes, brake reservoir, clutch cable, CV boots, various linkages, 4 new tyres, etc etc. It is now a jump in and drive anywhere car.
As you can see in the photos, the car is slightly lowered, this is done by new, longer tie rods. Even with all the trouble in the world I know some people still weep over such a heinous crime, so the car can be easily raised if that’s what you prefer but seriously, it looked like a 4X4 when it arrived!
The car is obviously MOT and tax exempt being 57 years old but please remember, it is not a brand new car. After owning many old cars, I find that people sometimes expect these cars to be straight out of the showroom but that is just not the case. I know many of you understand this already.
It pains me to sell this car because I absolutely love it, but I’m selling all my cars so the time has come to say farewell to my beloved Ami! £7495 ono
