1957 MGA 1500 in Glacier Blue and Black interior. UK car, taken off the road in 1972 and stored (in poor condition) for over 45 years. After my purchase in 2018 from deceased estate, started a nut and bolt/ ground up/ bare chassis/ comprehensive restoration which was recently completed and has now done just 500 miles since ‘renewed’. Includes full weather gear, aluminium side curtains and long tonneau cover. Painted in its original colour in cellulose. Body and chassis number matched to heritage certificate, and is on the MGA register. Includes old RF60 (green logbook) and recent V5c registered as historic vehicle. Reg number worth £3000.
Engine and Gearbox rebuilt (including new 2nd gear synchro). New axles, brakes, pipework and wiring, floor, carpets and interior. Anything not new has been refurbished. Stainless exhaust and boot rack.
I’ve tried to keep as original as possible on the rebuild, but have added seat belts in the correct aftermarket fixings.
Reluctant sale due to my recent knee replacement makes entry and exit troublesome.
Originally registered in April 1957 in Doncaster (DT). Various owners in the 60's and at some time a factory replacement engine was installed. Taken off the road in a very poor condition in 1972ish, and stored. Previous owner, an engineer, bought the 'project' in 1983 but didn't get very far with restoration. I purchase this car from his deceased estate in 2018 and started a complete restoration. Now completed, but little used.
