1985 Suzuki GSXR 750 Flat Tracker Street Fighter

Many years ago I had a fiberglass business producing flat track seat units for singles and twins. I bought the moulds from the late great RST but also wanted to produce a seat unit for the GSXR as well (they weren’t nicknamed slab sides for nothing!) And the joint project began.

The original bike was purchased from West Coast Motorcycles in 2000 and had only covered 4667Km’s (2900 miles) from new! The gorgeous seat unit was then painstakingly sculptured. Looks wise well ahead of its time and still fresh today. A negative split mould was then made and then a fiberglass one produced. The humpty tank was also cut and lowered by 1 & 1/ 2” to give sleeker lines too. (Something Suzuki eventually did on the next generation models.)

The whole bike was then stripped and restored; ie every nut and bolt zink or cadinum plated and the new bodywork, wheels etc painted. The idea was to make it look like it had been factory produced - similar to the CCM street tracker today but 30 years earlier! It then did (and won) a few shows for advertising purposes and then spent the rest of the time until now in a heated environment on display. In the 24 years I’ve owned it it has only covered 536 miles having been sorn and displayed for the last 17 years.

The bike was also featured in Awol custom bike magazine back in the day. A copy of which will be included in the sale.

It has recently been recommissioned and will have a full 12 months mot. Next year it will also qualify as a historic vehicle and be entitled to free road tax!

So a rare opportunity to purchase a unique classic that runs and rides exceptionally well having only ever covered 5531 kms (3436 miles) from new!
