‘Colin the Campervan' is a much loved VW T25 Automatic 1988 Autohomes Komet and is ready for exploring the open road with a new owner!
This rare right-hand drive AUTOMATIC T25 comes in a gorgeous red and white colour scheme, original interiors and has a 1915 petrol engine.
As a high-top, there is sleeping space for four (two adults and 2 children up top), and no need to get the pop top up if it is raining!
Colin is set up for on or off grid trips with a range of equipment including:
- 2 ring gas hob
- grill (great for making toast in the morning)
- sink, with electric foot pump from water storage tank
- 3 pin mains hookup & cable
- 3 way domestic fridge (fitted in 2014) with a mini-freezer compartment (great for making ice for G&Ts!)
- CD player & radio
- 12V lighting
- folding bed in rear, and pull out bunk with ladder for sleeping up top (or for extra storage)
- wine rack
- 2 swivelling front seats & 2 tables and poles
- leisure battery
- tow bar
- curtains
- full set of thermo mats for windows (for a bay van but works well)
Colin has had various updates including:
- a lower half respray in 2016
- a new 1. 9 watercooled engine from the VW Engine Company in 2019
- new water cooling system in 2020 (the engine never overheats)
- new radiator and fuel hoses, clamps and filters in 2020
- new starter motor and relay in 2023 (starts every time)
- new battery in 2024
Colin has a few spots of seam rust, but mostly body is in good condition.
The van has had only two previous owners and comes with a present V5 registration document. Current MOT certificate runs until mid June 2024 so, this camper van is ready to hit the road with you.
I have various extras which I will throw in, including:
- top of the range wheel lock and pedal lock to keep the van extra secure
- 2 electric fans, which plug into the cigarette lighter sockets
- Meguiar’s paint care kit (to keep him shining)
- 2 tire grip mats (in case you get stuck in the mud and need some grip)
- Two clean plastic water containers
- Various useful things like coolant and spare parts
Colin is a rare automatic T25 - there aren’t many of these around. With original interiors, this really is a classic.
We’ve done a lot of work on him whilst owning him, so he is very reliable and easy to drive.
