This is a rare Marcos Mantula, it’s a handbuilt car from England that weighs just 900 kgs (1, 984 lbs) that’s powered by the famous Rover V8 engine, a lightweight alloy 3. 5 liter power plant.
The Mantula looks remarkably similar to the earlier Marcos GT, both cars share almost the same fiberglass body after all, but thanks to the V8 powering the Mantula it can do the 0-62 mph dash in 5. 5 seconds onto a top speed of 140+ mph.
The Mantula was introduced in 1983, based on the 3 Litre with revised styling, the Rover V8 engine and an updated interior. Very few of these cars were built, and approximately 170 cars left the factory between 1983 and 1992. Independent Rear Suspension was introduced to the Mantula in 1986 (both Coupe and Spyder models). It was fitted utilising a Ford differential, unequal length wishbones, rear disc brakes and IRS .
Every Marcos is a rare machine, but most have achieved a small but loyal and vocal following. The Marcos Mantula offer much of the thrills of contemporary TVRs, helped by using the same Rover V8 engine for propulsion.
The Marcos Mantula body, chassis and running gear were all very well made. Marcos made only 289 Mantulas, so they are rarely for sale. This is a fast car!

The car was bought in Bath, UK, and was previously owned by a doctor. A few years ago I imported the car to Sweden, refurbished it and painted it. The engine is a TVR tuned Rover V8 of 3. 9 liters with around 300 horsepower.
