Brand New Battery just fitted.
New Front and Rear Wiper Blades.
Mechanically, the 4. 6 Litre 'Thor' engine feels strong. Starts first turn of the key. Idles in the correct manner.
Not noticed any oil or coolant leaks. Doesn't use any excess oil or coolant - levels remain constant.
No overheating - even on the hottest of days last summer, the temperature gauge gets to the half way mark and sits there all day long.
Had an Oil Service last summer.
Gearbox goes through the ratios as it should. Low Range also selects. Randomly comes up with Gearbox message, but this is since fitting the new battery and gearbox feels fine to me.
The air suspension appears to work correctly.
There is a blow on the offside rear exhaust back box. Actually makes it sound rather fruity, especially on cold start. It quietens down once the car has warmed up.
Tyres are matching General Grabbers all round with decent tread remaining.
In presentable condition for the year. There are a couple of rust spots on the bonnet and a couple on some other panels, but certainly not the usual rot box. Scratches on the paint work from green laning. Selant around the front screen - no leaks. Marks and blemishes as to be expected.
This has been used an enjoyed as an off-roader / green lane toy, so please don't expect a concours garage queen!
All seems solid underneath.
Tow Bar fitted (not used or tested in my ownership).
16" Anthracite Alloy Wheels in decent condition with a diamond polished lip. These look great and really set off the car.
Interior is in good order, with a few marks as to be expected for the year. No major rips or tears in the leather. Carpet over mats are grubby from off road use, but should clean up with a good scrub.
Talking of the leather, it is officialy called 'Ash Grey' but is more of a brown shade. Quite rare and I have not seen many in this colour before. Looks good with the Blenheim Silver paintwork, which again is a rare colour on a P38.
Typical P38 traits: A few loose bits of interior trim. Since fitting a brand new battery last week, random warning messages on the dash for sunroof not set, windows not set, etc. I think these just need resetting.
It has an Android screen fitted with a rear view camera. This works well and engages as soon as you put the car into reverse.
All electrics appear to work. Lights, Seats, windows, etc. Front and rear wipers and windscreen washers work fine.
It's not new or perfect, but it's a cheap and useable P38. These are slowly beginning to creep up in value.
