Morris Minor Series MM 2 door saloon. Two previous keepers from new.

This car was a complete knock down kit ( CKD), which was delivered to Australia, & assembled in Sydney for its first owner, who kept it for 52 years, shipping it back to the UK when he returned to the UK in 1963. This explains the 1963 Southampton registration, which is transferable, although I will not be splitting it from the car. The original invoice and shipping documents are in its history file. It has always been in use, and I have 37 Mot's dating from its point of eligibility. It is one of the earliest un-restored Morris Minors to have remained in continuous roadworthy condition.

This car is very stock & original, apart from a stainless steel exhaust system, radial tyres (correct profile, fitted last year) and poly bushes in the front eyebolts. The interior is in good order apart from the carpets, which are tatty/ threadbare in places around the door steps, and some wear on the driver's seat. The headlining and sun visors are in exceptional condition. The bodywork has been touched in here and there, and one rear wing resprayed many years ago. There is some corrosion at the rear edges of the front wings, and some rust spots at the bottom faces of the doors, but this has been stabilised and has got no worse since I bought it, partly because it is never taken out in the wet. The paintwork has more or less disappeared from the bumper valences and front panel, which may be attributable to the Australian sun. They are not corroded. Elsewhere the paint is faded and discoloured. The bumper blades are heavily pitted, the rest of the brightwork is reasonable. The underside is excellent with body colour visible under the wheel arches. The only welding, from many years ago, (1977 with receipt) is to the forward inner sills, and was completed to a high quality.

Mechanically, everything is functional and lubrication has been carried out regularly. The engine is original to the car and was overhauled some years ago. The wiring is original, but all in working order. It has working trafficators and no added indicators. I have the chrome windscreen surround and fillets, together with a new screen rubber from ESM, which needs to be fitted at some point. There is a large history box file, that accompanies the car. The original keeper (engineer), has documented a lot of work (dated with mileage) on various bits of paper from the 1970's until the late `1990's, which is a fascinating read.

This Morris is original as you will find anywhere. It has won a number of prizes in this category (see pictures), even in its somewhat shabby state, as the judges have always recognised its importance. It appeared in the inner circle at the Kelmarsh display for the MMOC 70th anniversary event in 2018.

I acquired this car in the back end of 2023, & joined the Morris Minor owners club, but have sadly decided to move it on, as I fancy something larger for trips away with the family.

Should you need anything else additional, or there are gaps in the above, please do let me know.
Viewing recommended to just see how unmolested this example is, as this car is not to be confused with your typical rotten or patched up car.

Car is located 15 mins from East Midlands Airport.
