If you’re looking for a Citroen BX that requires no restoration, no work whatsoever and is ready to drive anywhere, this is the one for you.

MOT’d until May 2025, this completely unrestored and very original Citroen BX TZD Turbo had only one owner from new until 2020. In time warp condition, the owner looked after the car meticulously and its wanted for nothing during its life. This has continued in my ownership.

Garaged from new and registered with the HBX from Luton Citroen Centre, this is probably the best example of an unrestored BX in the UK. Completely rust free and in stunning ceramic coated Venetian Red, the bodywork is superb. There are no scrapes nor is there any obvious damage. There is patina, which is expected from an unrestored car, however it still looks amazing in any weather. You know it’s been garaged because there is no dreaded ‘fade’ - notorious on Citroens of this era in red.

Everything works; from the remote central locking to the sliding sunroof. The interior is pristine with virtually no signs of wear. The original dealer fit Clarion radio/ cassette head unit is in situ.

The wheel trims are original and unmarked. The underside of the car was sealed from new and the sills were checked and wax injected in 2018. Timing belt and water pump were changed in 2019.

In my ownership, the BX has had the following major work:

- 2 Michelin tyres on the front. Avon’s on the rear and all four have decent tread remaining.
- 5 new spheres.
- 2 rear struts and rubber boots.
- 2 front struts replaced which should last for another 30 years.
- Rear subframe ‘y’ piece.
- LHM flush.

As with the rest of the car, the engine bay presents beautifully. I have spent a lot of time improving this area of the vehicle, removing the existing preventative Waxoyl, cleaning and protecting with new clear wax. Many of the original stickers and labels are still present and the strut tops are like new.

The BX comes with a comprehensive service history and huge history file with invoices and previous MOT’s stretching back years.

It turns heads wherever it goes and is a real conversation starter; everyone’s had or knows someone that’s had a BX, right?!

The MOT history is very clean and it’s MOT’d until May 2025, with no advisories.

This BX TZD drives flawlessly and starts first time, every time. The suspension lifts and drops gracefully with no leaks in the system.
