1985 AC 3000ME

For sale is my 1985 AC ME 3000, chassis number 198, with the unique opportunity of having the cars model designation ME 3000 as its registration number. The car registered in 1985 is one of the last Scottish built ME’s and has covered a genuine 13817 miles with two owners and as a demonstrator and comes with spare keys, original handbook and sales brochure along with old tax disks, MOT certificates and invoices for work and parts.
The ME 3000 was based on a prototype, the Diablo, designed by Peter Bohanna of Lola and Ford's AVO and Robin Stables a race engineer                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    and was purchased by AC and developed by them with the public first seeing the AC ME 3000 at the 1973 Earls Court Motor Show. The ME 3000 was the last car produced under the Hurlock family ownership and approximately 70 cars were built at Thames Ditton prior to the rights being sold to AC (Scotland)plc where another 35, this car included, were built before production ceased.
The car was, with its previous owner, used in mild competition in sprints and hill climbs having some upgrades to the engine and gearbox to improve performance and reliability. It has recently had the heads rebuilt and upgraded for unleaded fuel, although it is always run on premium unleaded fuel, along with an aluminium timing gear set fitted prior to being set up on a rolling road with all the print out data. It currently is fitted with after market wheels but will come with its standard fit Wolfrace alloys still fitted with the origional Goodyear NCT tyres.
ME 3000 is a very genuine and rare car which has been in my ownership since 2008 with some time off the road, in storage, due to a house move and no garaging facilities. It is in very good condition and drives very well with an MOT until August 2024 and currently on SORN. The registration number will be sold with the car or separately, by negotiation, dependant on the buyers preference.
