BRA designed a replica using moulds from the original Cobra 289. The shells were made of fibreglass. The car was built on an MGB base. Gerry Hawkridge, a keen engineer, joined BRA and then set up his own business producing his own replicas and Cobra parts. The 289 HAWK is based on the original bodywork, with a meticulous finish. The brand still exists and now produces 289s and 427s. They are sought after for their quality finish.
