This is a local Kent car supplied by Dutton Forshaw in Parkwood Maidstone in June 1979.
The first owner had it Ziebart treated (remember that!) and its condition today shows just how good it was. The Ziebart plugs are still visible in the door shuts and the bodywork is superb.
There were 2 further owners before 6 years later we acquired “The Midge” in October 1985
Ever since then she has been garaged and no expense spared to keep her in tip top condition.
When unleaded petrol came in, we had the head converted to run on unleaded and had a stainless-steel exhaust fitted which is still going strong today.
Over the years she has had a multitude of uses, originally my wife’s daily driver to and from work, then school run (when they could squeeze in the back without seat belts) and more recently touring in France. You can tell she is a well-loved member of the family but sadly the time has come for her to have a new lease of life with a new owner.
