SUMMARY
Originally supplied by Westway Mercedes, York, this W202 C240 Classic, is fitted with the glorious super smooth M112 V6 coupled to a 5-Speed automatic gearbox, and is a joy to drive, and feels so much more special than the 4 cylinder cars.
It's quite an unusual car too as the first owner was laser focused on what he wanted when he bought the car; there’s even a printout of a spreadsheet that he’d compiled which compares the W202 against similar models from other prestige manufacturers, that he’d used to help him decide which car he wanted. He then unusually ordered a Classic model, but with the superb V6 engine, and continued to specc’d it up to include things you wouldn’t find on higher models. Although the car is now sitting on newly refurbished MB 8-Hole alloys, it was originally specified with steel wheels and trims, as the owner wanted a subtle look; these wheels are still available and are in equally immaculate condition, if you're a stickler for keeping specification original.
I'm a big fan of the W202, its best described as a more refined W201 190E, however sadly unlike the W201, it did have a reputation for random rust, however every now and again, you'll come across one that has totally escaped the old tin worm, and from my observations they tend to be from 1996, 1997 and 1998 for some reason. This is one of those cars, and is basically an almost new W202 C240, for a very small fraction of the cost of a new one. The car still feels, smells and looks like new. I could prattle on all day about this car, but I’ll just let the pictures do the talking, this is one of the best W202 C-Classes I’ve come across in a very long time. The service history is also equally incredible, and the service book contains 15 stamps, all from either Mercedes Dealerships or Mercedes Specialists. Even the keys look and feel new, I very much doubt you’ll find many better.
Finally just to add, to keep the extensive service history up to date, I've just given the car a full service including brake fluid and ATF & Filter change. All 12 Spark Plugs were changed at the last service at 41, 600 miles, so all major jobs have been completed.
THE MTSV DIFFERENCE
Unlike some, I don’t just simply go out, buy any old car, give it a good clean, then advertise it for more than the purchase price, disregarding any issues the car may have in the hope the new buyer won’t notice…I just couldn’t do that. The cars I source are carefully selected and I work very hard so that when my cars leave me, I have the satisfaction of knowing they are as good as they possibly can be within the constraints I have. As such I have many repeat customers and new customers that have been recommended via word of mouth…the ultimate accolade for anyone in business.
