Here’s a genuine one-off opportunity to own an affordable Ford Thames 400e, we all know these are making huge money when restored and there’s not that many about, ours needs TLC but its all complete, it runs and we have the current up to date logbook, its probably the cheapest one available anywhere.
Now before you get too excited, it does need some work, it’s been laid up and unused for some time, it’s poorly hand painted and was partly stripped down for a refurb, we’ve put most of the bits back in place so you can see what your buying, we have had it running with fuel added at the carb and it seems to run well, ask to see the YouTube video.
We are fairly certain its virtually complete, everything seems to be in place, the fuel tank is in place over the rear axle and the filler pipe is in a box of bits, we may have missed something, look at the pics and decide for yourselves. It rolls freely, the main chassis is solid, they tyres all stay up, both doors open and click shut, the gears all select on the column change and the handbrake lever is operating.
To make it usable you’ll need to do some welding in the drivers footwell of the cab, free off the brakes and clutch, reconnect the electrics and fuel pipes and there will always be other bits that need doing, after that it’s the buyer’s choice on how far you go.
A very worthwhile full restoration project, an affordable and easy oily rag runabout that would get everyone talking or maybe a brilliant advertising platform outside your business, lots of options, it oozes charm and character and will never be worth any less than our asking price.
If you need me to send you pics of the welding that may be needed, have to ask how much it will cost to get it on the road or want a close up picture of the paint finish, this is NOT the truck for you, the next owner will know what he or she is getting into from the description, pictures and video provided and will see the opportunity on offer.

Local delivery within 20 miles of Carlisle is normally for free, further afield we can deliver to most of the UK for about £1 per road mile (it won’t be delivered by crow) one way from our base near Longtown, Cumbria, please ask for a price.

All viewings are exclusively by timed APPOINTMENT ONLY, we do not have a showroom or display area, items may have to be brought from our secure storage to view and advance notice will be required.
