Perfect Coachbuilder to Commission an Elegant open 4 Seater Body on the Bentley MKV1 chassis no B435 CD which on his request left the Bentley Factory in May 1948 to be sent to the Pininfarina Works in Torina Italy.
Ready in March for the 1949 Geneva Motorshow, this One off Elegant Cabriolet proved convincingly that even Bentley could benefit from Italian styling.
Dr Spieler drove his Pinifarina Bentley around in Switzerland until the end of the 50-ies at Dr Spierlers death, Ralph Hemmi a Canadian Bentley enthusiast from Montreal, Bought the Pininfarina Convertaible and started a lenghly restoration. Unfortunately this Canadiann 2nd owner did not see the Finalisation of the Restoration, which had to be completed by 3rd owner Dr Phillip Chartrand.
The restoration might have been lengthy, the reward for all this time and money is simply Glorious.
