In 1935, Railton produced two Light Sports Tourers (LST) one of these being race by well known dealer Charles Follett at Shelsley & Brooklands lapping a 115 mph, Donington Park and Brighton.
In the 1960s, Bill Drake, fascinated by Railton LST’s place in automotive history decided to convert his 1935 Coachcraft Stratton 4 Door Saloon to create an LST replica as it was unlikely he would be able to obtain one of the originals.
In 1998, the mantle of the Bill Drake Railton LST passed to the Fack family. They continued to race and hill climb the Bill Drake Railton LST with considerable success, primarily in the VSCC Owner Driver Mechanic series. They developed the car for better reliability and performance. Then in 2014 Fack Family had the opportunity to purchase one of the two original LTS, making the Bill Drake replica superfluous to requirement and put up for sale.
It was soon snapped up as a 75th birthday present by our client. Now, in his 85th year and following a successful 65 races over the past nine years—creating amazing memories, including 10 wins and 15 other top-three positions. It's time once more for the mantle to be passed on.
