This 1949 MG TC was originally supplied directly to the United States, returning home in 2016. Chassis TC9149 had been active in the US motorsport competition where the supercharger was fitted and the bonnet sides deleted to aid cooling.
TC9149 has benefited from several modifications to aid its usability, these include 5 speed Ford T9 gearbox. This makes the car very usable for everyday and long-distance touring, as well as a VW steering box which make for light easy steering also allowing the fitment of a smaller steering wheel for easier access for the taller driver.
The XPAG engine was rebuild by Peter Edney in 2018, wheels rebuilt in November 2020 also fitting new Blockley tyres. The interior has had a full upholstery retrim with a high quality OX blood leather and red carpets, earlier period P type seats trimmed in black leather with oxblood piping.
The car is accompanied by a full high-quality tonneau.
