Read the ad carefully, carburettors to be serviced... I'm parting with my Morris Marina 1. 8 TC Saloon series dated 21 January 1973... With only 57, 300 original km, it is in excellent condition. ... The 1. 8 TC, a version that is starting to become rare, has a fairly lively engine that is really fun to drive, identical to that of the MGB... As the third owner, the car has been in my possession for more than ten years... Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to complete the mechanical overhaul... Let's take a quick tour of the car together...
As far as the interior is concerned, the car is in excellent condition. The upholstery shows absolutely no signs of wear, it's in perfect condition. As far as the bodywork is concerned, as the photos show, the car is also in excellent condition. There are no dents, scratches or anything else. The boot floor, rocker panels and all the other generally sensitive areas are in very good condition.
On the mechanical side, the car was put back on the road two years ago, but never got there due to lack of time... The braking system was overhauled, and all the fluids were changed. Two years ago, the car was running, and all that remained to be done was to overhaul the carburettors (cleaning, sealing, adjustment).
Unfortunately, as things turned out, the car was stored in a dry garage and hasn't been driven for two years. The engine isn't blocked, it runs but because of the lack of carburettors, it won't start OR, sometimes, it starts but can't idle. It should be noted that before these two years, it had already been stopped but ... stored in a dry place.
There's no point in insisting, as it's here, that someone should give it the attention it deserves by looking at the carburettors. After that, it will know how to thank its new owner, who will simply be able to enjoy driving it on simple outings, but it will also be able to offer him some sensations thanks to its excellent weight/ power ratio. This car is therefore aimed at a mechanics enthusiast who, at little cost, will give it back all its performance...
... Which also allows you to acquire the cheapest Morris Marina 1. 8 TC on the market!... As it's "not running" at the moment, the new roadworthiness test will be at the buyer's expense (last test ok at 57, 191 km)... so it's only covered around 100 km since then.
