No exchange. No exchange. The general condition of the vehicle, exterior and interior, is remarkable for its age, with very sound bodywork, mechanicals and interior. Amateur & enthusiast, the car is perfect, identical to the original model and conforms to the original specifications (parts, details etc). Always parked in a garage, with protective cover - Bodywork and exterior plastics in perfect condition. Paintwork redone in 2017, no dents, no major scratches, no corossion - Interior perfectly preserved: front and rear seats not stained, not worn, no holes and not deformed. Carpets, headlining and interior plastics very clean with no major defects - Mechanics impeccable & professionally maintained. CT dated 03/ 01/ 2025 valid for 5 years. Only one fault noted without a second inspection (slipping). Nothing to be expected and everything works (see below list of recent servicing and 3 minor malfunctions). The vehicle was imported by the SEAT MADRID network in February 1989 (copy of document). Registered for the first time in Spain in March 1989, it has remained there ever since, in a climate conducive to perfect preservation. The previous owner, a collector, had registered it as a historic vehicle in Spain = a full appraisal procedure, different from a simple French CG collection (copy of the very comprehensive 13-page report). I also have the Spanish TC reports (ITV) from 2012. Not bought on an auction platform, but directly via an acquaintance in Spain in 2022. No surprises, nothing to hide, everything is said. Other: - duplicate keys / collector's registration in my name / no power steering, no air conditioning.
- Genuine 15" BBS alloy wheels (RJ or RZ model), original leather steering wheel (original option), Blaupunkt Amsterdam TCM 127 car radio with Keycard anti-theft system (early 90s) + Blaupunkt 10 CD changer of the same period + 6 HP, original 5-cassette rack, "Golf ball" gear knob, central locking and remote control early 90s (2 remote controls), electric windows, MFA on-board computer, windscreen with integrated green anti-sun strip, manual radio aerial in original position on left front wing (with anti-theft & extraction key), quality front/ rear floor mats with "Golf GTI" embroidery and red stitching (2022), new sprocket wheel, custom-made interior protective cover for Golf 2 in polyester fabric (fleece interior, red and flocked with VW/ Original 1989 logo and storage bag), manufacturer's label still in the boot and legible, etc.
Recent servicing: - Left-hand cardan shaft bellows (May 2022) - BOSCH battery (November 2022, invoice) - Complete overhaul of cooling system by professional: change radiator, calorostat, water pump and belt, coolant tank, all flexible and rigid hoses, various switches + timing belt kit (June 2023, professional invoices) - Clutch + release bearing kit (June 2023, professional invoices).
- 2 vintage Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 front tyres for youngtimers (May 2024, invoice) - Plus many other new items of hardware (front bumper, boot sill, rear lights, engine compartment rainwater retainer, handbrake cover, VW logo on rear skirt, rear parcel shelf, etc). Known minor faults: - Daily km counter can no longer be reset to zero (pin pushed in). Speeds 1 and 2 of the interior ventilation have not worked for a very long time (early summer 2024). Speed 3 does work, however (expect to pay around forty euros to change the blower motor) - random LCD display on the car radio.
