Description
1961 VW Karmann Ghia 1200 coupe In 1961, the Karmann was sold new in Norway. This Ghia coupe was ordered in the beautiful L398 Pacific Blue colour scheme with a two-tone turquoise/ ice blue interior. That same year (1961), this Karmann Ghia coupé found its way to the United States. The 1st owner, Ivan F, owned this car until around 1985, the 2nd owner from the Larson family owned this Ghia until he left for the USA. In 2016, this magnificent Karmann arrived in the Netherlands and was in a museum until our purchase. Realistically, this is a Karmann Ghia purchased from the 3rd owner. it is a Karmann in very original and good condition. There is also a lot of documentation such as the purchase receipt, service booklet, various invoices and a VW certificate are also included. It is rare to find them as original and complete as this one. Its paintwork shows a scratch and damage after 63 years, but that certainly doesn't seem out of place for this survivor of time. If you're looking for an original Ghia that hasn't been tinkered with, then this is a really good car. This Karmann Ghia is now registered in the USA, French registration can of course be arranged. The engine runs well and the car drives well, but it has been stationary for a long time. It therefore needs servicing. We can also update it for you, so that a new stamp can be added to its original service book.
