EXTERIOR
Beautifully presented in metallic Topaz Blue this pre-facelift M Sport coupe looks every bit the low mileage of just 32k. The paintwork is near-immaculate throughout with only a very light dusting of minor stone chips to evidence the mileage. The headlights are crystal-clear and all the glass is first-rate. The rear lights are also perfect with no cracks or haziness from the sun. Surrounding the windows are gloss black Shadowline trims, again unblemished with no water spots. Clearly the car has been kept inside and away from the elements because there is no perishing to any of the rubber seals and all the arches are completely rust-free. The original 18-inch MV1 alloy wheels are unmarked.
INTERIOR
Open the door and you’re still greeted by that new car smell. The M Sport theme continues inside with sports seats trimmed in soft grey Montana leather; the centre panels are pristine, the deep bolsters hint at only light use, and all the electronic adjustments work perfectly. Other commonly worn items such as the steering wheel and gear knob both feel great in hand with no marks or shine to the leather. All the switchgear operates correctly including the ice-cold AC and electric folding door mirrors. A common issue with BMWs of this era can be heavily scratched interior plastics but within this car the trims are excellent, not 100% unmarked but in superb original condition. In the footwells the carpets are still protected by the original grey BMW velour overmats, and in the boot you’ll find the BMW toolkit and CD changer.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 2. 5-litre straight six provides effortless silky-smooth driving while still packing a punch when you need to get a shift on, and in this example it’s paired with the sought-after manual gearbox. Barely run-in only 32k miles under its belt this stunning example is accompanied by a great maintenance record with 10 entries in the original service booklet. The engine bay is expectedly clean with no damage or signs of previous poor repair. The last service was completed in February 2025 at the current mileage. Additional work carried out within the last few hundred miles includes a new radiator, water pump, and belts, plus new front and rear brake discs, pads, calipers, and hoses.
HISTORY FILE
This outstanding manual E46 was first registered in March 2003. It has now driven just 32k miles in the hands of only 4 registered keepers. The accompanying History File comprises the original BMW document wallet with all owner’s manuals, the dealer-supplied service booklet with 10 entries, a raft of maintenance invoices and MOT certificates, the original bill of sale from Milcars BMW, and a spare remote key. Services have been carried out at the following mileages: 3, 265 – 9, 438 – 15, 468 – 17, 372 – 19, 736 – 25, 764 – 30, 419 – 32, 190 – 32, 452 – and most recently at 32, 457 miles in February 2025 when the car was also MOT’d with no advisories. All in all, a cherished collector-quality example that has wanted for nothing.
