Description
MERCEDES SL 280 ‘PAGODE’ W113 170CV 1969 - The SL model of the W113 generation was first presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963 and was produced until 1971. The main designers were Paul Bracq, Béla Barényi and Friedrich Geiger, who also created a patented hard top during the model's development, slightly concave, which inspired the nickname ‘Pagoda’. The styling of the front end, featuring vertical Bosch ‘aquarium’ headlights and a simple chrome grille, dominated by the large three-pointed star on the front panel, paid homage to the 300 SL Roadster. Three versions of the model were marketed, the 230, 250 and 280. The SL280 was the last and most powerful to be marketed. It was only presented in December 1967 and was in production until February 1971. It was powered by a 2, 778cm3 M130 six-cylinder engine with Bosch mechanical injection and an impressive 170bhp. It has been fully and meticulously restored. It comes in an elegant combination, with a Dark Blue exterior, Beige soft top, Dark Blue seats and Natural Beige smooth leather, with perforated leather seat centres and Dark Blue carpet. In terms of equipment, special mention should be made of: Becker Mexico Radio // Air Conditioning // Hard Top + Soft Top // Power Steering.
