A little history: The Alpine A310 V6 seems to have been the French answer to the Porsche 911. But you didn't buy an Alpine the same way you bought a Porsche. With the A310, Jean Rédélé, the brand's founder, targeted the grand touring market, offering a larger, more comfortable 2+2. Introduced in 1971 with a 4-cylinder R16 TS engine rated at 125 bhp, it became the A310 V6 in 1976, with the famous PRV engine developing 150 bhp in this configuration from a displacement of 2. 7 litres. With this V6, the A310 finally achieved the status it was aiming for. One of its great qualities was its lightness, which put it more in the Lotus category than the Porsche category. Between 1976 and 1984, 9, 269 examples of the 310 V6 were produced, or more than 1, 000 a year. The Alpine A310 I am offering you is in exceptionally well maintained condition, and is an iconic car par excellence. It's one of the last cars produced, and one of the most accomplished.
Its history is clear: delivered new in April 1984 to its first owner by an official Alpine distributor in Belgium, the car was driven and then stored for almost 20 years, which explains its exceptional state of preservation today. It was put back on the road in 2019 after a general overhaul in the garage. Its odometer now shows 98, 000km, which corresponds tò an original mileage in line with the vehicle's age and general patina. An appraisal carried out in 2020 after the car was put back on the road confirmed its overall good condition. The car had never had an accident and the paintwork is original. I was able to acquire this marvel in France in October 2021, since when the vehicle has been stored in a clean, dry environment. Its colour is pearly navy blue with a beige leather interior. The 4 tyres are new, the spare wheel is missing. A recent full service has been carried out.
Few Alpine A310s have been preserved in their original condition, and this example, with its clear history, represents a great opportunity to gain access to France's most famous sports car.
