Comprehensively restored to factory spec
The initial 1977 PE250B proved rugged, well-made and docile. The engine was effectively the 5-speed RM series motocross engine, with altered gearing, porting and a heavier flywheel, which produced only 28hp, but had broader power and outstanding torque. This proved highly competitive and popular in all countries. The Suzuki PE250, part of the 'Pure Enduro' series, was a popular off-road motorcycle produced from 1977 to 1984. It was notable for being one of the first serious Japanese enduro bikes, initially utilising one-year-old motocross technology. The PE250 was based on the RM series motocross bikes, but with modifications like a heavier flywheel, revised porting, and different gearing to make it more suitable for enduro riding.
This c. 1981 Suzuki PE250 was purchased by the current vendor several years ago to go on display in his shop with other motorcycles. The PE has been looked after since it was purchased by the owner, but not run. An older restoration, carried out to a very high standard, it has now mellowed nicely. A good example of the model and a credit to the restorer, there is no paperwork with this machine.
