The Morgan Aero 8 is the modern traditionalist that blends classic styling with modern performance. Introduced in 2000 by the Morgan Motor Company, it marked a significant departure from the brand’s traditional construction methods by adopting a bonded aluminium chassis, the first Morgan to do so, while still retaining the marque’s trademark ash wood frame and pure, classic aesthetic.
Under the hood, the Aero 8 is powered by a meaty 4. 4litre BMW V8 paired with a Getrag 6-speed manual gearbox. With 325hp and a weight of around 1, 150 kg, the Aero 8 will go from 0-100km/ h in under 4. 5 seconds and reach a top speed of 257km/ h.
Impressive performance and certainly not for the faint-hearted traditionalist. The modern traditionalist with an appreciation of technology and all things fast, will certainly feel at home. Not because he needs to go fast by all means, but because occasionally, the thrill of pushing your ‘classic car’ forwards, faster than most other modern cars, is quite satisfying. The power delivery and handling is go-kart like when you want it to be, and at the same time gentle and comforting on par with the best Grand Tourers, if you just sit back and enjoy the journey.
This 2005 Morgan Aero 8 has just two owners from new. The first owner from 2005-2023. The car has covered a mere 86. 160km from new. Still in its original, first coat of Jaguar Sherwood Green Metallic with Muirhead Saddle Brown leather interior and a mohair green hood. The Morgan presents beautifully inside and outside with very light traces of use mirroring its mileage.
The Aero 8 is ready to be enjoyed in which ever driving style you throw at it and is a true driver’s car that offers raw, analogue handling with minimal electronic interference. It appeals to purists who value craftsmanship and character over digital refinement.
