The Ala d’Oro 250 made its appearance in 1960, shortly after the 175. Initially it was just a road bike prepared for racing, but later evolution led to solutions specifically developed for racing use, such as a new frame with plates in the rear area (1966), and suspension and brakes.
The Ala d’Oro was probably the 250 of greatest interest to private riders and juniors.
In his competitive curriculum, nine Italian Mountain Championships stand out (won between 1965 and 1973, and four Junior titles, while among those won abroad, two victories at the 100 miles of Daytona (1963 and 1964).
