We’re pleased to offer this 1972 Triumph TR6 PI (150bhp), registration PXE 560L — a car we know particularly well, having now sold it on three separate occasions. Each of its previous owners genuinely enjoyed their time with it, and each returned the car to us only when stepping into higher-value classics. That kind of continuity and satisfaction speaks volumes.
First registered on 1st September 1972, this TR6 presents beautifully in its original Saffron Yellow with black trim and a newly fitted mohair hood. It’s covered 80, 217 miles and remains true to the factory 150bhp fuel-injected spec, with the added benefit of an overdrive gearbox, unleaded head conversion, electric starter, and stainless sports exhaust.
This is a very nicely presented example throughout. Panel fit is excellent, and the car sits well on painted wire wheels which we will shortly be having them chrome powder coated with centre locks and correct Vredestein Sprint Classic tyres. The chrome, paintwork and detailing all hold up to close inspection, and both the engine bay and boot floor are as smart as the exterior.
Inside, the cabin is clean and honest. The seats are in great shape, the dash and woodwork remain unspoiled, and a period radio is neatly fitted. A fresh tonneau cover accompanies the mohair hood, completing the package.
The car is supported by a very extensive history file which reflects a lifetime of proper maintenance and sympathetic ownership. There are invoices on file totaling £19, 783. 99, dating back to the early 1980s, and showing investment in the car’s condition, drivability and presentation over many decades. A MOT mileage history from 1980 to date further evidences its careful use and progressive improvement over time.
Ahead of sale, the TR6 will benefit from a fresh service and a number of minor recommissioning jobs to ensure it's on-the-button and ready for enjoyable use. Most recently, the car has already been detailed by us and comes with a no-advisory MOT valid to 18th April 2026.
