These bikes were produced by BMW as a sports tourer and are real mile munchers with very stable handling. This is the later twin spark model. The build attention to detail shows through out. This bike is in beautiful condition and must be one of the best available.
The bike has had 4 previous owners.
I bought the bike 2 years ago from a private owner who had only had it for two months. I owned a previous model which I always regretted selling. However, due to owning other bikes I have not used it as much as I had intended and have therefore reluctantly decided to sell it.
The bikes service booklet has been stamped at 642 and 7641 miles by BMW dealers. No other history came with the bike. There is the riders manual and some old paperwork. All recent receipts and a Haynes workshop manual are included.
Since owning the bike I have changed the engine oil and filter using Motorex Boxer 4T 15w50 oil. The gear box oil and final drive oil has been changed using Putoline 75w-90 gear oil. All new crush washers fitted.
The air filter was renewed and whilst the bodywork was removed I connected a battery charger lead which can be seen in one of the photographs. The charger will be included in the sale.
I have new front brake pads which I will fit and fully clean the callipers and pistons. The brake fluid will be renewed on front and rear systems prior to collection.
The Mot was done on 24. 06. 2025 and passed with an advisory that the front tyre was close to the legal limit. A new Bridgestone Battlax S21 has been fitted.
The bike is now 21 years old and the photographs show where there is time related corrosion such as under the seat and the front of the engine. However, the other parts are in excellent condition.
The panniers are in lovely condition but have some scratches but are really clean inside. The two keys are different to the two ignition keys.
Also, I’ll include the Oxford bike cover with solar charger. There is an adapter to fit the external socket on the bike. I really believe that these bikes have gone under the radar. BMW really pushed the design boundaries with this bike. The quality is stunning and the exposed rear wheel always turns heads. This bikes runs beautifully and with an engine that’s good for over 100k miles, is ready for plenty of long trips. The shown mileage may change slightly if I take it out for a last few rides.
