This car has the particularity of having been delivered first hand by the Swiss importer AMAG, today one of Porsche's biggest partners. Their partnership, which began in the 1950s with the first 356As, has enjoyed growing success over the years, and this car was purchased in Cannes on the Côte d'Azur in 1971 by its current owner. It was a present for his 18th birthday! More than 50 years later, he is proud to tell us that this was his first car, bought from a young woman who was staying at the Eden Roc in Cap D'Antibes.
An avid Porsche collector, he has cared for it throughout his life. The bodywork is beautifully presented. A coat of paint was redone in 2009. It is Matching color #608 Silver Mettalic and all the chrome and logos are original and in very good condition. On deck, the underpinnings and rocker panels show no signs of corrosion, while the interior is in its original, rather well-preserved condition. The period imitation seats show a few traces of standard wear that are not serious. The roof lining is in excellent condition. The instrumentation is functional.
The mechanics have been properly maintained. The owner, who owns other Porsches, is a well-informed specialist and connoisseur of this marque.
In 2009, he decided to completely rebuild the engine. Cylinders, pistons, rings, bushes and valves were all overhauled and restored. The gearbox was also opened up, along with the clutch, to change the complete kit (disc, bearing, mechanism). Since the complete overhaul, the car has covered just 5, 000 km.
