Description

L'Atelier des 1000 is pleased to offer for sale this superb Peugeot 304 Cabriolet, in an elegant and luminous configuration, with its Champagne metallic colour combined with a Teppline Brown leather interior. Produced between 1970 and 1980, the 304 Cabriolet represented a modern and accessible vision of open-air motoring pleasure. Designed by Pininfarina, it was aimed at customers looking for a small, chic and easy-to-handle cabriolet, ideal for sunny drives. With its well-balanced, flowing lines, the Peugeot 304 S Cabriolet borrows the dynamic qualities of the saloon from which it is derived, with reassuring roadholding, appreciable comfort and an engine that is sufficiently energetic for journeys on both main roads and secondary roads.

Much appreciated by classic Peugeot enthusiasts, this 'S' version is distinguished by its 1. 3L engine developing 75 bhp, a more complete finish and a plush interior.

The model we are presenting here was launched in July 1975 in the Netherlands, where it spent its life until its recent arrival in France.

This 304 S Cabriolet has benefited from good general maintenance and respectful use. Its 1. 3L engine runs very well, with smooth operation and a pleasant sound. The alternator, radiator, water pump and ignition harness have all recently been replaced. The 4-speed manual gearbox works very well, with an appropriate gear ratio and precise guidance.

The chassis and running gear are in good condition, providing pleasant roadholding. The brakes are effective and well-balanced, in keeping with the model's performance. The rear brake hoses have recently been replaced. The original wheels are in good condition, with chrome hubcaps and Vredestein tyres in very good condition.

The metallic beige paintwork has retained a beautiful sheen, with golden highlights in the sunlight. A few signs of age are visible, but they do not detract from the vehicle's overall elegance. The underpinnings show no structural or perforating corrosion, and all the chrome has retained its brilliant shine. The brown leather upholstery is in very good condition: supple, with no tears or sagging, and with a beautiful authentic patina.

The dashboard, steering wheel, door trim and the interior as a whole are in very good condition. All the instrumentation is functional. The black alpaca soft top is in very good condition, supple and tight, and the black leather soft top cover is in very good condition. The vehicle can be supplied with a white hard top as an extra.

In view of the rarity, general condition and configuration of this model, we are asking €16, 990 for it.
