Description
First registered September 1994 (with ’95 model year VIN designation) and a 6-speed manual gearbox. This 968 Sport has been in my ownership for 11 years since 2014 being carefully looked after and cherished. Purchased from RPM Technik, the car has since received upgrades and improvements as available in keeping with original manufacture. Garaged and kept dry for 11 years, I have only added 11, 000 miles in that time (< 1, 000 miles over last two years). The body in Guards Red gleaming paint work is totally original, in top condition and has never been repaired or over-sprayed. The factory front wheel arch protection film remains in place.
Car currently showing 89, 308 miles. Prior to my ownership in 2014, RPM Technik installed a replacement engine of just 44, 720 miles, with the car at 76, 011 miles - engine 31, 300 fewer miles than the car. Before installation the engine received many new Porsche parts including cam belt, balance shaft belt, tensioner, idlers/ rollers, seals, water pump, thermostat, engine mounts, coolant, throttle and crankshaft sensors (plus more in history file and receipts). Prior to my ownership the Engine Control Unit also received the fitting of the ProMax M/ SP 7100 ROW chip. The engine has only ever been run on Millers CFS engine oil since owning the car.
Complete suspension and geometry improvements and upgrades were carried out by specialists Centre Gravity. This included installing new adjustable Koni dampers all round (in keeping with original factory M030 options), new Hartech wishbone, SuperPro wishbone bushes and readjustment of front and rear original M030 anti-roll bars etc.
Not much ‘fettling’ has been required on my part (other than service items), as the garaged car has always remained in excellent body and mechanical condition throughout my ownership - preventative maintenance and care being something I have always practiced. Long, faultless and reliable driving trips were enjoyed through France in this 968 Sport.

Only 306 Porsche 968 Sports were released in the UK from January 1994. With the same standard suspension as the Club Sport, they were produced on the same assembly line and as such received the same chassis VIN number series. At the time of ordering, both the Club Sport and Sport could be specified with the M220 (limited slip differential) and the M030 (brakes, suspension) options.
Perfect 50/ 50 transaxle weight distribution with upgraded suspension and geometry makes this 968 Sport handling and ride absolutely pure and predictable. The level of grip round turns and twisties provides a high level of confidence and plenty of smiles.
Rally legend Walter Rhol described the 968 at the time as the best handling Porsche ever produced. The 968 engine was a big step forward from the 944. VarioCam, a resonance intake, stronger internals, and more advanced engine management, made the 968 engine both more powerful and more refined.
