This is a unique opportunity to own the last registered, factory-built Marcos.
Developed by the original team and launched in 2002, the TS-range looked to cement Marcos’s place alongside TVR, Porsche, and Lotus as a sportscar manufacturer in the new millennium. To compete in such a populated market, a number of major changes were introduced: a new 24V Duractec V6 was placed into a revised spaceframe chassis; sleek Peugeot-sourced headlights were installed into a revised bonnet; and altered sill profiles and door rounded door shuts to bring modernity to the Mantaray-based bodywork.
The first built, this TS250 was used for the development of the model before being displayed as a factory show car. Bought in 2010, we had the pleasure of re-commissioning and registering the car. Since its registration, the car has been dry-stored and used sparingly, covering only 3800 ‘fair weather’ miles.
Presented in as-new condition throughout, the underside and engine bay show few signs of use. The combination of Marcos’ well-proven suspension design and the light Duractec V6 engine provides excellent handling characteristics, with the latter giving a wonderful sound under acceleration.
The paintwork and hood, both in fantastic condition, sit on OEM 17″ Fox Racing wheels. The inside features optional black leather with yellow pipework as well as a central gauge cluster, a feature unique to TS models. The boot has an abundance of space, making it a perfect car for long-distance touring.
This TS is fitted with all of Marcos’ usual features, including a heated windscreen, a radio, and electrically operated pedals and windows.
