The SL500 is part of the highly regarded R129 generation of Mercedes-Benz’s flagship convertible, produced between 1989 and 2002. Introduced as the successor to the long running R107, the R129 brought a new era of technology and safety with innovations including an automatically deploying roll bar, traction control and improved passenger safety zones.
While the model was offered with a wide range of engines, under the bonnet of this car sits the robust 5. 0-litre V8 producing 322bhp when new.
