1953 MG TD – Original UK RHD
We are delighted to offer once again this very well presented 1953 MG TD, supplied originally to the UK market and in right-hand drive configuration.
By the late 1940s, the MG TC was showing its age, so MG introduced the TD in 1950 with a more advanced specification. The new model featured rack and pinion steering, independent front suspension (borrowed from the MG Y-type saloon), and 15” pressed-steel disc wheels, giving a lower, more purposeful stance. These improvements made the TD immensely popular, with nearly 30, 000 produced before the TF succeeded it late in 1953.
This example is finished to a very good standard, having been carefully maintained and has proved very reliable on several Continental tours. It is supplied with a full set of weather equipment including a tonneau cover. A pleasing period wood-rim steering wheel is fitted.
Supplied by us earlier this year, the car has been reluctantly returned by its owner due to a change in circumstances.
Summary:
• Original UK-supplied RHD example
• Very well restored and carefully maintained
• Full weather equipment with tonneau cover
• Proven reliability on Continental tours
• Previously supplied by ourselves.
