1973 Reliant Scimitar GTE – A True British Classic with Remarkable Provenance
First registered on 1st August 1973, this Reliant Scimitar GTE represents one of the most iconic British sporting estates of its era. The GTE combined practicality with performance, and its forward-thinking shooting brake design has since earned it a distinguished place in classic motoring history.
Presented here in blue, the car has had just six previous owners, each evidently maintaining a careful custodianship. The provenance is outstanding, with a beautiful hand-written service log book beginning in July 1976 and continuing meticulously right through to 2021. This remarkable continuity of record is supplemented by a file of invoices dating from 1976 to 2025, giving a near half-century of documented care.
The car is accompanied by an enviable selection of original literature and history: the Scimitar GTE owner’s handbook, warranty and maintenance book, and the exceedingly rare original bill of sale from 1976, alongside the period sales brochure. Old tax discs, previous V5 ownership history, and a handwritten list of works and expenditure all contribute to one of the most complete documentary trails we have seen for a Scimitar.
