A restored example of the only car Vespa ever made!
HISTORY
Purchased in 2020 as an unfinished project on eBay UK, an Oxfordshire based 2-stroke expert purchased the car and finished it off over a 3 year period. Upon purchase the car was already painted and the body shell made good, but the mechanics and interior needed to be finished. Completed in 2023 and UK registered at the same time. Many new parts were sourced from France (Vespa is an Italian company but these cars were made in France) and all mechanical and interior work completed. Displayed at the 2023 Goodwood GRRC Annual Open Day by the current owner where it had a wonderful reception.
SPECIFICATION
Blue with white roll down roof, white seats, white wall tyres, LHD, 2+2 seating, no seat belts, 3-speed manual gearbox, 2 stroke air cooled engine, suicide doors, period radio and speaker, front ‘drawer’, full size spare wheel under the passenger seat.
CONDITION
Lovely glossy paint all-round with some marks and chips around the body (see my youtube video for a full condition report), wheels in excellent shape with brand new chrome hubcaps, excellent tyres with plenty of tread all round, lovely interior with just light wear and some marks to the very white seats. Roll back roof is brand new. The dashboard is remarkable and undamaged. The engine bay presents very well. The underneath is very smart and shows none of the usual rot. A beautiful example that drives superbly and needs nothing to enjoy. Two keys, lots of invoices and photos in various states of restoration. It is tax and MOT exempt and is registered as a Historic Vehicle which makes it ULEZ exempt as well. Huge fun!
