1965 Ford Mustang Fastback 289 V8 Tremec 5-Speed Manual. A beautifully restored Fastback finished in Poppy Red with red interior and seats, now enhanced with a Tremec T5 5-speed manual gearbox. This example comes exceptionally well specified, featuring disc brakes, American Racing Torq Thrust wheels, upgraded suspension, larger radiator, short shifter, Cherry Bomb mufflers, rear folding seats and new rear seatbelts. Mechanical reliability has also been enhanced with a new carburettor, new starter motor, and an upgraded ignition system, combining classic styling with improved performance and drivability.
Originally built in 1965, this Fastback features the desirable 289ci V8 engine. The Mustang has been further improved with a 3. 73:1 differential ratio to perfectly match the T5 gearbox, delivering crisp acceleration and a more engaging driving experience.
The previous owner has also invested significantly into improving what was already an exceptional Mustang, with a clear focus on reliability and usability for European touring. Extensive work has been carried out by specialists, including upgrades to the cooling system (radiator and fan), suspension (springs and shocks), braking system, and ignition components. The drivetrain has also been refreshed, including differential work, alongside the addition of a quick-shift gear setup. As a result, this is not only a standout example but a well-sorted car that is ready to be enjoyed on longer journeys with confidence.
The underside presents exceptionally well, finished in factory-correct red oxide primer, reflecting the quality of the restoration.
