Here at Old Colonel Cars, the Classic and Performance Car Agency, we are delighted to have this excellent Mercedes SL 420.
This August 1988 example has covered only 93, 000 Miles.
One of the last R107 Mercedes produced, this example features the very rare, 4. 2 V8.
The 4. 2 V8 is the most modern engine fitted to the R107 and to many the pick of the bunch.
Only just over 2000 of these worldwide …
Being a last of the line model, they are very sought after, as they came with better body protection.
This example benefits from an excellent, fully documented service history.
We have a large folder full of all old service receipts and all old Mot’s, all original manuals, original fully stamped service book, spare keys etc.
This SL is a very original car, been looked after by Mercedes or very good specialists from new.
Finished in Metallic Blue / Black paint (Option 199), as you can see from the many pictures and videos on the top of our website advert, this example presents very well.
Look closer, no rust on any arches, all solid, underneath, sills, jacking points all just as good.
Inside, this lovely example is finished in Beige leather (Option 275). Again, see the videos, its presents very well.
This R107 has obviously be cared for and maintained by the right people.
I have specialised in classic cars for over 20 years, this is a lovely, original and honest example.
It drives and performs particularly well, engine starts without fuss, provides plenty of smooth power. The gearbox again, performs as it should, hot or cold.
All the heaters / fans / general electric work as they should.
Its comes with a Black Hardtop, with a Black Soft Top.
It features a factory Limited Slipp Diff and original Alpine stereo , remote alarm .
Mot’d until June 2026 (No Advisories).
This would be a lovely classic to drive daily, or tuck away and save for the special trips …
