Description
1966 2CV AZAM with a centrifugal clutch, vehicle completely original and in very good condition for its age (no rust but there are dings).
Chassis sound, frame also OK, no rust.
- The 2CV is primrose yellow repainted (the original Citroën shade used in earlier versions up to ’57 I think; normally its colour is AC136 grey-pink), the rest of the car is original.
The car is currently not running; the engine turns over on the starter but won’t start, ignition issue, but I’ve devoted little time to it. I need to re‑pass it for the technical inspection soon.
The wiring loom is in perfect condition and in place, except that the previous restoration led the owner to disconnect everything. I’ve reconnected about 80% enough to start and run, but the remainder (lights and dashboard) needs to be correctly connected. The loom is relatively simple and primitive; a few hours with a multimeter by a pro should suffice.
The seat covers are damaged, not too much on the rear bench but the front bench yes (original red cover).
WORKS AND NEW PARTS (around €600 in receipts) carried out less than 6 months ago:
- New centrifugal clutch, with new release bearing
- All four tyres are new (no inner tube; these are tubeless modern tyres in the original size, of course)
- 6V battery new
- Hood new
- Coil 6V – spark plugs and leads, retainer bolts new
- Carburettor new
- Master cylinder new
- Various small new parts (e. g. air valve diaphragm, trims and so on)
It’s close to being road‑worthy again; I don’t have a logbook in my name as it needs a fresh technical inspection, but that will be done straight away (the transfer was registered in my name on the ANTS). The sale will of course be with my updated logbook; I simply need to have it through a check, perhaps not running to complete it, or take some time to start it and drive it there, or discuss with a buyer to have them pass it and complete the transaction afterwards — no problem on that front.
The engine has already been overhauled a few years ago; visually you can tell, I don’t have proof but I’m not worried on that front as it will start again instantly.
I want €3000, negotiable on the spot.
PS: I brought the car out for photos otherwise it’s stored in a shelter.
