Description
We’re delighted to present this outstanding 1964 Volkswagen Beetle, benefitting from a ragtop roof and a wealth of accessories that are perfectly in keeping with its era.
Originally from Finland, this Beetle was first registered in the UK in June 2016. It has been in the proud possession of two UK owners with its current owner acquiring the car in August 2018. With this chapter now complete, it stands ready to be enjoyed by its next lucky custodian.
Present with the vehicle is its original Finnish registration plate, along with the original user manual and service books.
Finished in stunning Ruby Red L456 - a factory paint colour available for early-to-mid-1960s Volkswagen models - this example truly stands out. Setting it apart from the majority is its Allard Golde ragtop roof, which has been installed using genuine Golde parts in keeping with its era, rather than a modern reproduction equivalent.
The exterior is equipped with an abundance of ‘Aircooled Accessories’ enhancements, including Aussie flash side panel trims (fixed with 3M pads and therefore easily removable), Swedish gravel guards, a 356-style grilled stop light, rear D badge, stainless steel beauty wheel trim rings, door window vent trims, and a Happich-style exhaust trim with reflective insert.
The body condition overall is very good, and the underside presents solidly. The only exception is the front offside wing, which shows a slight cosmetic blemish. Rather than detracting from the car, we feel this adds a subtle touch of honesty.
The interior remains largely untouched, with the exception of the Banjo steering wheel supplied by ‘Aircooled Accessories’. The seat upholstery retains its factory basketweave vinyl. The front seats rear bench, door cards, carpets and mats are all in excellent condition, while the headlining shows some light age-related wear consistent with the car’s originality.
Powering the car is its original 1, 200cc engine, which starts readily on the key and runs smoothly.
Overall, this Beetle is honest, full of character and most importantly, solid. The easily removable accessories allow it to be returned to a more original appearance should you desire. Having undergone a full inspection by us, along with some subtle mechanical refinements, it is ready to be enjoyed on the road immediately.
Please take the time to review the full image gallery and walkaround video on our website for a clear representation of this Beetle’s condition.
