Description
1965 Ford Mustang Coupe – Early Production Car – Fully Restored
Presented here is an exceptionally well-restored 1965 Ford Mustang Coupe, finished in its factory ( updated) colour of Vintage Burgundy with black interior. This car has undergone a comprehensive two-year restoration, including a bare-metal full body respray, resulting in the superb condition seen today.
A substantial photographic record of the restoration accompanies the vehicle, documenting the process from strip-down through to completion.
The paintwork presents beautifully with a deep gloss finish that highlights the iconic styling of the early Mustang. Chrome trim, brightwork and body panels all show extremely well, making this a car that looks as impressive in person as it does in the photographs.
The restoration tried to keep as much of the original interior for authenticity - see photos for interior condition. The interior presents very well and remains true to it heritage.

History
This Mustang was purchased new by its first owner, a lady from Bridgeport, Connecticut, on 7th January 1965.
The car remained in the United States with only two American owners before being imported to the UK in 2021.
After arriving in the UK, the current owner undertook a full restoration, carefully returning the car to the superb condition you see today. The process took approximately two years, with a full photographic record kept throughout.
The result is a Mustang that now presents beautifully and is ready to be enjoyed.
As is often the case with restorations of this level, the cost of the work carried out far exceeds the current asking price, making this a fantastic opportunity to acquire a fully sorted example.
The Early Mustang Story
The Ford Mustang was launched on 17th April 1964 at the New York World's Fair and instantly became one of the most successful new car launches in automotive history. Ford sold over 22, 000 Mustangs on the first day alone, and nearly 420, 000 cars during the first year of production.
These early Mustangs created the “pony car” segment, combining sporty styling, V8 performance and affordable pricing. Today they remain among the most recognisable and desirable American classic cars.
