First registered on 30th September 1998, this Mini Cooper Sportspack is presented in Flame Red with a white roof and bonnet stripes, over a 'Monaco' stone beige and black leatherette interior. Under the bonnet resides a 1275cc multipoint injection engine producing around 62bhp through a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a bank of four Rallye-style fog and spot lamps, Union Jack roof decal stickers, a high-level brake light, 13-inch alloy wheels, a leather-bound steering wheel, alloy interior trim, a burr walnut dashboard and a three-clock binnacle with magnolia-faced dials.
Currently displaying 88, 795 miles, this Mini has been in the care of a dedicated club member for the past nine years, following a previous ten-year period as part of a museum collection. During the latest ownership, the car has been carefully maintained, MOT’d annually without exception and used sensibly, regularly attending summer events such as Minis by the Sea.
It is clear that the Mini has been well cared for and it presents a great usable classic ready for the summer, whilst also offering some scope for improvement as an increasing investment. The Flame Red paintwork is in very good order, and the bodywork appears straight, with correct panel gaps between the scuttle and wing tops. The original factory ‘body’ number is present on the bonnet slam panel, while the inner wings display tidy spot welds. The glass, chromework and trim are in excellent condition, and the alloy wheels present well overall, with the rear wheels sporting recent new Yokohama A539 tyres. The Mini also benefits from new vented sills, fitted last year, and the rear subframe has been waxoyl protected for longevity.
Inside, the cabin is clean and inviting. Careful storage over the years has helped maintain the burr walnut dashboard, which remains in good condition. The leather-bound steering wheel displays a gentle, characterful patina, while the alloy trim is in fine order. Elsewhere, the boot and engine bay are in commendable condition, and the 1275cc multi-point injection engine is sprightly, pulling well through all four gears without any crunches upon changes.
The Mini is sold with an MOT valid until 19th February 2027 (no advisories) and is accompanied by two sets of keys and a history file which includes the original stamped service book.
